About the Exhibition


The Persian Art Exhibition in Perth, was held annually (usually in April) as part of the Persian New Year Festival since year 2016, now (since 2021) the timing of this event has moved to the second half of the year around Mehregan Celebration. The exhibition presents a beautiful and fine collection of various Persian art forms including calligraphy, painting, miniature and mo’aragh or mosaic art on wood, created by talented and creative local Iranian artists, and serves as platform to introduce Persian Art to our multicultural society.

Visiting this unique exhibition is an opportunity to view a rare collection of Persian art pieces, learn about Persian Art, and also to buy an art piece directly from a local Iranian artists.

About Persian Art

Persian art or Iranian art has one of the richest art heritages in world history and has been strong in many media including architecture, painting, weaving, pottery, calligraphy, metalworking and sculpture. At different times, influences from the art of neighbouring civilizations have been very important, and latterly Persian art gave and received major influences as part of the wider styles of Islamic art.
